Tunnel Service SA, TSSA, was founded in 2000 by the two companies Société Suisse des Explosifs and Gasser Felstechnik in response to market demands for specialty blasting services. The first assignments of this new cooperation took place on the major tunnel and highway construction sites of the NRLA, where we played a key role in the introduction of pumped emulsion explosives to the Swiss market. Still today we accompany the blasting work on various construction sites during the entire excavation period.

In 2005 the company was renamed Explosiv Service SA, ESSA. As an additional service ESSA introduced and use of emulsion and heavy-ANFO explosives using its modern pump truck.

Explosiv Service SA has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Société Suisse des Explosifs since the beginning of 2014.

In 2024 EXPLOSIV SERVICE SA has merged with Société Suisse des Explosifs and now operates as the blasting technical services department for SSE under the name EXPLOSIV SERVICE.
